95 is still closed much of the way through North Carolina due to flooding. If you are being rerouted either by your company or the government, you should get paid for the route you are running, not the flooded route. Be sure to inform your company so they don't cheat you. No, its not a law but its my law. Today is the live show at 1pm that I do every week. Hope to see everyone there. See you on the road!

There will soon be a members area of this site. I am getting numerous documents and contracts sent in. These will be scrubbed of anyone's personal information and posted in the members area. There will be a one-time fee to get lifetime access to this and I will be constantly updating it. It will also have reports of my interactions with companies when I call them and the emails I get back. It will be a way to see the actual documents companies have. You won't have to just listen to their recruiters.
I may be live this afternoon. Still have work to do but if I get it finished I will jump on for a while and answer some questions. I just got some documents from Hurricane Express sent to me. Looking them over now. Thank you everyone for being here and on YouTube. Over 7300 now! See you on the road! When you join the nation, make sure I am not going in your junk folder! Mark@TruckingAnswersNation is where you receive periodic updates and generally a Friday newsletter. There have been some people that have added their names several times and I believe this is due to me hitting their junk mail. Don't junk me!
The website is soon going to get an addition where I will post the contracts and other things that are being sent in. All identifying things are being removed so don't worry about that. These companies need to be exposed and this is one way to do it. They can't hide from their own documents! I will let you know as this happens. I am kept quite busy recording videos and answering comments as well as emails. I love it so keep them coming! I think we are on to something here. If you have something from your company that you want me to see, send it in! Its time again for a new Crap Company of the Week!
Today is the end of the first month of this website and there have been over 1100 visits! Thank you! That is very encouraging to me that this site and the other things I do is actually helping drivers run legal and get the money they deserve. It is my goal to help every driver that wants and needs it. I answer every email sent to me so if you have a questions feel free to write in. Also, send your pictures and I will get them posted to the gallery. Using the knowledge I have gained in over 30 years of truck driving to help other drivers is really my calling. It is a labor of love and I spend 4-5 hours a day answering emails, responding to comments on my YouTube channel, updating this site and a myriad of other things. Plus, I am getting requests to speak which is exciting! I will see if I can film them or even broadcast them live! Information for drivers is always free. Just write in and let me know how I can help. Have you joined the Nation yet? Its easy and free! Just click here! See you on the Road! I found this huge piece of metal in a trailer tire while doing a post-trip inspection, which is logged on-duty time. How would you find this if you didn't actually take the time to look over your equipment? Now, this was 220am so it took some time to get someone out to replace it. My company pays all breakdown time from the time you call them until you are fixed and ready to roll again so that is a good thing. Still annoying for sure. I post this because it is a common thread in the comments about doing a pre-trip and post-trip. You should do both. Always, no excuses. Furthermore, they are logged on-duty time.
See you on the road! It was a busy weekend for Trucking Answers. I read 316 comments and responded to many of them. Some don't require a response. I also answered numerous emails and kept everyone up to date on social media. Its great being able to help those that want it and just keep in touch about the trucking industry with many of you. I learn from all of you, believe me. I don't pretend to know everything about trucking. I am just trying to do my best with the decades of experience I have to help people and make the industry better. We as drivers are licensed professionals and should be treated as such. In return, we should handle ourselves as professionals in all of our dealings with those in and out of the industry. Also, those of us with experience should help the next group of drivers coming on-line. Pass on that knowledge!
Today is Monday so that means the live show goes on at 1pm EST! Rain or shine, holiday or not I am live on Monday. Sometimes I pop in with an extra live show or two as well so be sure to subscribe to keep up to date on what is happening! Watch the live show here. Remember, there is no charge to individual drivers for any help I can give. I write back to everyone who sends an email. Finally, in the live chats I have some moderators. I haven't had a need for them yet but please keep it positive. I don't want to boot anyone but I will. No name calling like I see on others chats. We can disagree about things but let's keep it civil and for sure leave people's families out of it. That will get you banned. You can't succeed being negative. See you on the road! In the industry we harp on all the bad players as we should but who is doing it right? Today, I start to find out with a new series on YouTube of companies that are doing it better. No company is perfect of course but some do a better job than others. Starting out a dime a mile more can mean as much as $12000 in your pocket the first year alone! As always, these are my opinions and I'd like to hear yours. These new featured companies will be linked on this site shortly but until then you can watch them here.
Thank you to everyone signing up here to join the nation. I normally put out a quick email on Fridays to the Nation members. Be sure to check your Spam folder for me! I never sell or give out your information. Nearing 7000 Subscribers on YouTube! At 10000 I will have a live show with giveaways so stay tuned and invite your friends to subscribe! As always, I am here to answers questions and I read all comments on the channel and respond to many of them as well. There is never a charge to individual drivers for this. I am getting many comments and emails but I will get to you I promise! See you on the Road! By popular demand I will be adding some more content to the web. I have already added a gallery so send in pic of your truck or some nice shots and I'll add them.
I'll be looking over companies pay and benefit packages and posting my comments on a new page. I will also be calling companies and letting you know how they were on the phone. You can then email me with your experiences at that company and I'll add the comments. We can all learn from each other and find the best company. Sometimes the "best" company may not be the best company for you. So, things like hometime and lanes will be included. That can be more important than pay. I want to thank everyone for being on the live feed yesterday. It was Labor Day, thank you for taking time to be with me on the feed. It was over 2 hrs 40 min long! Incredible. The live feed is every Monday at 1pm, holiday or not. I strive to be the most interactive trucking YouTube channel! See you on the road! |
AuthorHi! Welcome. I'm Mark and I've been a professional truck driver for over 33 years, the last 19 years at the same company. It is time that drivers got paid for every minute that we work and we are treated like the licensed professionals we are. Archives
