About Mark of Trucking Answers
I started driving just after I turned 21 over 30 years ago. It seems like that time has just flown by. I was managing an Arby's and I saw those ads late at night for a truck school near me and I thought that would be a great job since I love to drive anyway. Well, it turned out I was right. Since 1988, I have visited 49 states. Yes, I took a load to Alaska many years ago. It was summer so the road to Prudhoe Bay was gravel with no ice. Still, it was a real adventure. Other than a car hauler, I have used nearly every type of trailer that you see or have seen on the road.
In all these year and over 3.5 MILLION miles I have not received a ticket or had an accident. I am very proud of that. Its an accomplishment that can't be bought, it has to be earned.
This website is an outgrowth of my YouTube channel, TRUCKING ANSWERS. I started that because I noticed many truck drivers giving driving advice but they had little to no experience. Much of what they were saying was wrong or encouraged drivers to cheat their logs or otherwise not be compliant. I don't follow this philosophy. I believe drivers should get paid for all we do. Having someone work without paying them is basically slavery. Locking drivers into a high lease payment is not much better. I want to change all that by helping drivers get to a company that will appreciate them and treat them like the professional they are.
I reside in Lafayette, Indiana with my wife of 24 years (a saint) and tortoise shell cat named Nikki. RIP Nikki 9-17-2018.
We now are servants of an orange female tabby named Gracie.
Of my 31+ years of driving I have been at my company for the last 17 years.
See you on the road!
