Remember, you have until Oct 10 to submit your comments to the FMCSA about the proposed HOS changes. Watch the video and submit your comments. They have received over 2500 as of today which is good but with over 1 MILLION CDL drivers it seems less good. The descriptions has the information and docket number to make your voice heard.
I love to hear from everyone and every email is answered by me. If you have a question or suggestion please drop me a line! See you on the road! I have many requests for company info and I am going to be putting up pages for each one of them. They will not all get a video as that would be too time consuming. I am just getting started with this so check it out as it comes along. Cataloging every trucking company in America is a big task so give me some time.
Remember, the Nation newsletter comes out tomorrow so be sure to look for it. I am considering adding video sponsorships. Would anyone be interested? You, or your company or YouTube channel could sponsor a video. I will mention this at the beginning and also put links in the description. I'll work on that and get a page posted. It would be a way to spread some information about your business or channel and help out the Nation to spread our message. See you on the road! So, I called the Crap Company of the Week this week to get informaion and they talked my ear off. Ugh. The funniest thing is they never asked me for my contact information. Now, it could well be they got my number through caller ID but wouldn't you at least ask for an email? They talked to me for a good 30 minutes.
Back to Decker. It just bothers me that they have people writing comments that don't actually know anything about driving. There is no such thing as HHG Practical miles. None. A driver would know this but they were trying to dirty the waters by saying Practical in their comments when it is not true. Always be mindful of what a company says. Words mean things. They have yet to contact me in any way and by any means. Its not like I'm hiding. There will be a Crap Company of the Year! This will be done by a vote of you the viewer and reader. More info later this year. Nearing 8000 subscribers. At 10000 there will be giveaways on a live show. Stay tuned. See you on the road! Decker, who was the Crap Company of the Week a few weeks ago, has started writing in the comments of their crap video. They were suggesting to drivers that I was wrong and that they paid HHG Practical miles. There is no such thing. I will be releasing a video on how miles are paid. Companies always want you to think they are paying better than they are. HHG miles (sometimes called short miles) pay zip code to zip code. It pays on routes you can't actually take in a truck and it went out of style many years ago. Some companies still hold on to the old ways. You lose 8-10% of the miles this way. For example, a 550 mile load on practical miles pays around 535-540 miles while on HHG miles it pays 500-505 miles. For the same load! Companies that pay HHG miles will never get on the Doing it Better list from me. I still think all drivers should be paid hourly but drivers should not accept a position with a company that pays anything less than practical miles. Just say NO to HHG miles!
See you on the road! Don't forget about the live show every Monday at 1pm EST on YouTube! I am also streaming that show on this website here. The deadline for comments about the HOS changes has been extended to OCT 10. Here is the link and the number is FMCSA-2018-0248 to enter and make you comments known. You can comment as many times as you would like. Over 1700 comments have been received. There should be one million. Get typing!
See you on the road! Apparently Rains and Sons management has been interrogating their employees as to who gave out their information. Can you believe that? I got a number of emails from employees since the video went up. So, I set up a wonderful page with all of the information here. Why haven't they contacted me? Just like roaches, you shine the light on them and they run. I'm not going to stand for it. Share the video because everyone needs to know about places like this. We will root out all the bad players, I promise you that.
See you on the road! There is a company many of you recommended and I have been calling with no answer. What's up with that? I am going to email them. If I still get no response I will post the name of that company here. I mean, if they need drivers at least they could do is answer the phone.
I added a picture to the gallery sent in by a viewer. Unfortunately, he does not know where the photo was taken. No one should deliver anything here ever again. I am considering writing kind of a guide for new drivers. What to expect, how to find a good company, what questions to ask and that kind of thing. It would be a PDF and could be delivered electronically. What do you think? Would anyone be interested? I get many questions like this and I thought a well-thought out guide could help new drivers. See you on the road! Today is Crap Company of the Week day and the company today was suggested by a viewer. Not only that, he sent in a lease purchase contract and numerous pictures of Qualcomm messages. Nice. It always amazes me to see what kind of driver treatment companies get away with. Eventually, that contract will be posted in the VIP section of this site along with other contracts and pictures. I just received a Stevens contract that I am reading.
I want to thank everyone for watching my videos. I had no idea when I started this where it would go but the wheels are really rolling now! See you on the road! I get tons of requests from everyone to review companies. Keep them coming! I will get to them, just give me some time. I do this and also work full-time so it may take a little time to get to every company.
Today's video was prompted by a picture that a viewer sent in. If you would like me to see something, take a picture and send it! I especially like contracts and documents. I promise you your identity will be kept confidential. I am working on a type of score a company will get. This will help people compare company to company. Eventually, each company will get its own page with information and their video if they get one. I hope everyone is staying out of the hurricane area. Please, do not fuel in the area. Leave that fuel for people actually working on cleanup and helping out. Plan to fuel at least 250 miles away from the impacted area. See you on the road! |
AuthorHi! Welcome. I'm Mark and I've been a professional truck driver for over 33 years, the last 19 years at the same company. It is time that drivers got paid for every minute that we work and we are treated like the licensed professionals we are. Archives
