I have had many requests to do videos about the good companies in trucking. Well, let's make that happen! There are companies doing things right, paying good money and just in general recommended by other drivers. I'll feature one of those each week as well as continuing to shine a light on the bad players in the industry. Remember, no company is perfect for sure. You can have a great experience at a Crap company and a horrible experience at a good company. Labor day weekend is here. Lock your trailer if you take it home with you. Anyone in the Rantoul, Illinois area on Labor day should shoot me a message and I will come over to the truckstop. We can shoot a video and get some grub. Sound good? Let me know if you are there this weekend here. The live show will go on as planned Monday at 1pm Eastern. It will be a remote show from the National Sweetcorn Festival in Hoopeston, Illinois. Huge car show there. I won't be able to get to comments live as easily due to being outside but I'll do my best. Thank you everyone for subscribing and watching my videos! Now over 6000! I am here to serve the trucking industry and all drivers. Let me know what I can do. Also, check out the YouTube channel if you haven't! See you on the road!

These companies that don't pay for our time, they are getting scared. Keep watching, liking, commenting and sharing the videos. When a corporate officer writes to me, they are concerned that the truth is getting out. My video about the K&B call will be out today. The Holiday weekend is nearly here. Please be careful going home or wherever you are going. Also, lock the trailer. There is a huge increase in stolen freight over holiday weekends. If you know anything about Stevens Transport, send it to me. They are secretive for a reason and we all need to know what it is. A document or picture of the drivers manual would be great. All information sources are kept confidential. See you on the road! So, I get an email from K&B Transportation today wanting me to call them about the inaccurate information in my recent video about them being the CRAP company of the week. Well, after talking to them, I was wrong about the vacation. I said it topped out at 2 weeks and they actually give 3 weeks after 10 years. Other than that, my information was CORRECT. Now, to their credit, they were very nice and just wanted to get across to everyone the entire program there which can't be put on a website. Also, he stressed that they are very upfront about all they ways you are paid and I totally agree. Many companies don't put anything on their website at all. I will have an update video soon on our conversation. Remember, today is a new CRAP company of the week. Be sure to tune in!
See you on the road! Yesterday on Twitter there was a conversation about drivers parking on the shoulder for their 30 minute break. It was suggested that they have no choice because of the ELD. This indicates they were violating their logs before the ELD came around and it also shows poor planning. Look, no matter what, do not blame your poor safety choices on the ELD. We all like to hate on it (except me) but if you choose to do something unsafe that's on you. Don't blame the government, the ELD, the FMCSA, moonspots or anything else. You cannot park on the shoulder for your break, period. Is there a lack of parking? YES. Still, you cannot park on the shoulder unless you are broke down. I see drivers peeing on the shoulder as well. Along with this being GROSS and unprofessional as you can be, its unsafe. If I had trucks and a driver of mine parked on the shoulder, I'd fire them immediately. Always be safe no matter what. You know that break is coming up. Plan accordingly. Don't blame anyone or anything for your unsafe acts but you.
See you on the road! About one hour to go before the big live Monday show. I hope everyone will be there. We can talk about the changes FMCSA is considering or whatever you want. Its basically a Q and A sessions and I Try to get to everyone's questions and comments. Sometimes it gets hectic with many people in there so please be patient, I am trying to acknowledge everyone! Thank you all for participating and making this the most interactive trucking channel on YouTube. I am configuring a new email host and that should be ready soon so I hope to have a newletter out in the coming days.
See you on the road! The FMCSA wants to hear from you! They have an advanced notice of proposed rulemaking. They may eliminate the 30 minute break, change the split sleeper rule and do a few other things. What do you think? I'll have a video out by 4pm today about this. Let me know what you think but more importantly, let the FMCSA know what you think. There are a million or more CDL drivers and sometimes they only get 10 comments. If you want some changes, now is the time.
The FMCSA is holding a listening session at GATS in Dallas today. If you are at the show, stop by and give them a piece of your mind, respectfully. Screaming at them and calling them names will not be helpful. See you on the road! I've got a new page on this site just for the Crap Company of the Week! Its very popular on YouTube but now you can watch all of them right here! As new ones are added they will show up here as well. I hope you enjoy. Let me know your suggestions for the next Crap Company of the week!
Its GATS time in Dallas again. Is anyone there? How is it going? I will be at MATS in Louisville which takes place at the end of March. More news on that as we get closer. I do a live show on YouTube every Monday. Labor day is on a Monday but I will still be live that day at 1pm Eastern. I attend a huge car show in Hoopeston, Illinois on Labor Day so I'll be live from there. Just because its a holiday doesn't mean drivers are not working. We supply the entire country with everything it needs so I will be on live as usual that day. If anyone is sitting in the Rantoul, Illinois area that day and wants to make a video, let me know. I'll shoot over and we will roll some tape. (Industry speak). If you are thinking about getting into trucking, now is the time. Although they do training year around, I recommend doing it in good weather if you can. You'll have an easier time of it when you are just learning backing and the like. See you on the road! Wednesday has rolled around again so the Crap Company of the Week video will be up today. I try to post them by 4pm Eastern. I'm going to have a page to compile them here but until then watch it on my YouTube channel.
There is some movement in DC on some HOS changes that are being proposed. I will have that video up on Friday. California also is changing some of its laws on training new drivers. Look for that tomorrow. Announcement soon on the changes that are coming to my life to better serve everyone. Looks like it will work out and it will be a go! See you on the road! There are going to be some changes coming which will allow me to serve you better. Trucking Answers has grown quickly and beyond my wildest imagination. I try to keep up with the comments and making videos and updating this site and other things that go on but my time each day is running short. So, I'll be changing what I do at work to better allow me to serve everyone I can. I'll have an announcement on this soon.
What else would you like to see here? Let me know so I can make it happen. I'll be in Hoopeston, Illinois on Labor Day for the Sweetcorn Festival. There is a huge car show I go to every year. If anyone is in the Rantoul, Illinois area taking a break that weekend and wants to say hi, let me know! I can zoom out to 57 and we can do a video. This weekend is the Great American Truck Show in Dallas. If you are going to be down there you should go. I'll be a Mid-America in Louisville next March. I want to thank everyone that was in the live stream I did yesterday. Its going to be an every Monday at 1pm Eastern thing now. Its Tuesday and that means Jay will be live on YouTube talking cars at Auto Transport Intel. He starts at 9pm Eastern and get industry experts together to talk car hauling. Its interesting. Check it out! See you on the road! I'll be live today on YouTube answering questions and talking about trucking. I hope to see everyone there. I'll probably be on for about an hour.
Its a great time to get into trucking. I have a list of company phone numbers here for you to use to find the right company for you. Everyone is hiring so start calling. Also, I'll likely be starting a newsletter in the near future. This will be weekly. |
AuthorHi! Welcome. I'm Mark and I've been a professional truck driver for over 33 years, the last 19 years at the same company. It is time that drivers got paid for every minute that we work and we are treated like the licensed professionals we are. Archives
