Today I am going live at 1pm Eastern so be sure to be there! I am considering doing special live shows that would be training where we talk about a specific topic like On-Duty time or some such thing. What do you think about that? Let me know. I'll see you live shortly!

Hi Mark, I've been following you on YouTube and appreciate your videos. I worked in IT for 26 years and then got my CDL-A. I have all endorsements except Passenger and School Bus. Have a TWIC card too. My first job after school was fueling commercial jets at Newark Airport here in NJ. I liked the job during the day but I got placed on the night shift and couldn't handle the arctic blast winds last winter so I quit. First job I ever quit in 30 something years. Anyway, when applying to a new company, do you think I should include that info about quitting?

No, I don't think so. I wouldn't lie on an application but I wouldn't include extra information, either. If they ask about it in an interview you could tell them that you didn't like working outside at -10 and you believe a truck cab will be warmer or something like that. Companies are really looking for drivers so as long as you don't have 9 felonies you'll be fine. See you on the road!

AuthorHi! Welcome. I'm Mark and I've been a professional truck driver for over 33 years, the last 19 years at the same company. It is time that drivers got paid for every minute that we work and we are treated like the licensed professionals we are. Archives
