Ray Martinez is stepping down as the head of the FMCSA effective October 31. Jim Mullen will step in to take his place. Mullen is the Chief Counsel of the FMCSA. Yes, a lawyer will be heading the FMCSA. Another person with no experience actually driving a truck, riding in a truck or anything else to do with trucks. Will there ever come a day when someone at least with a CDL runs the agency that regulates people with a CDL? I don't know. It is a dream of mine that may never be realized. Check out the ARTICLE.
Cold weather and snow is upon us now. Are you ready? It is time to get your cold weather gear and some extra food and water with you in case you are stuck on the side of I-80 for 3 days with the gates closed. Don't travel with less than a half a tank of fuel, either. Be safe and be ready. See you on the road!
